About alik1973

I started homebrewing in August 2009 after years of wanting to try it and lots of encouragement from my brother-in-law who homebrews back in MA. I absolutely love it!! My husband and I have dreams of opening our own microbrewery one day. Until then, I'll be homebrewing and experimenting with different beer styles.

My father once told my brother-in-law that there are three things you need to do in life: build a house, raise a family and brew your own beer. Two out of three at 37...not bad. Not bad at all.

 

Aside from brewing, I have a vegetable garden and I'm generally crafty (e.g., knit, crochet, sew, etc.).

I'm very much into the specialty type beers, whether they be spiced or have vegetables/fruit in the mix. Although I'm just starting out, so you never know what I'll stumble onto next.

Brewing Philosophy: 

Every brew is an experiment and all results are worthwhile. Enjoy it. Play with it. Love it.
