Maltose Falcons Collaborate with Cerveceros Caseros Ensenada for a Special Brew Day in Baja California
Earlier this month, members of the Maltose Falcons embarked on a spirited trip to Ensenada, Baja California, to team up with the local homebrew club, Cerveceros Caseros Ensenada (CCE). Led by club presidents Axel Campos (CCE), Rick Morales (MF), and brewing expert Eric Bonney, the Falcons showcased their brewing knowledge through a hands-on demonstration of a simple yet effective brew session. The highlight of the event? A special version of the Maltose Falcons’ 50th Anniversary IPA—crafted using the Brew-in-a-Bag (BIAB) method. This technique, known for its accessibility and ease, was the perfect way to introduce new brewers to the joys of homebrewing.
The collaboration drew a vibrant crowd of beer enthusiasts eager to deepen their understanding of the craft, learn new brewing techniques, and, naturally, savor some excellent local craft beer and special collaborations brought in by the Falcons. The atmosphere buzzed with energy as attendees shared brewing tips, discussed the finer points of brewing techniques, and exchanged ideas on growing and retaining club memberships. Conversations centered around how to inspire new members to join and foster a strong, supportive community of brewers.
The CCE members’ hospitality was remarkable. Following the brew session, they extended an invitation to the Falcons to join them in the next day’s Ensenada Oktoberfest. The event was a lively celebration of beer culture, and the CCE’s booth was a popular stop, where they poured a range of homebrewed beers for festival-goers. It was another opportunity for the clubs to strengthen bonds.
Special thanks go to Omar from The Happy Tap for generously hosting the brew day, and to Axel, along with the rest of their members, for their warm welcome. The Maltose Falcons extended an invitation for CCE to visit the Falcons’ clubhouse in return, with hopes of continuing the friendship and collaborative spirit between the two clubs.
